Hayao Miyazaki’s style has been a big influence on my work. I thought I might do a drawing of Porco Rosso, my favorite movie of his. Enjoy! I’m a big fan of Grant Wood’s landscapes. I thought it would be fun to do a study of The Birthplace of Herbert Hoover. I gotta do more landscapes, and more color stuff. It took me forever to color this thing. I’ve been reading Mattotti’s Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde, which is done in color pencil and looks terrific. Since I hadn’t done anything in color pencil in probably 10 years; so I thought I’d dig them out and play around. As it turns out, I need to practice my color pencil work. I got too [...] First attempt at watercolor painting digitally or analog. I’ll likely be doing more of this kind of thing. It’s a little time consuming, but I like the way it looks.
